The Things We See Out of Condo Windows!

The other morning we were sitting in the master bedroom watching the people getting ready to wash their clothes in the river across the street.  Now, that is not an unusual sight.  But, the more we watched these people, the more unusual it became.

They had large piles of clothes to sort.  They had so much stuff to bring they used a flatbed dolly (like what you would see at Home Depot).  Usually a family will bring just a basket to wash.  Then, if the weather allows, they dry the clothes over the grass or on the rocks.  Remember this is so little humidity here things do dry quickly.

They then light a large fire (we had never seen that before) and began tossing clothes into the fire.  So, they carried all the stuff to the river just to burn it????  They were doing this for a couple of hours.  Then, a heavy down pour of rain came and they left.

I do wonder what their story was.....
