Seville - Tuesday - Sept. 17th - Free Day for the Group

I knew I would needed a day of rest and limit the amount of walking I did.  I decided the best thing for me was to remain in the hotel room with ice on my knee.  So, that gave everyone a free day to see and do what they wanted.  I did give some suggestions.

Theresa and Sheila had eyed some great shops just blocks from the hotel when we arrive on Sunday afternoon as we were walking to the Italian restaurant for our late lunch/early dinner.

So, the girls got together and headed out shoe shopping.  I think they were so successful that I see another suitcase for each of them.  They both wore new shoes this evening and were darling.  Theresa had on a great pair of tan and black soft leather boots with double buckles.

We all gather in the lobby at 5:45pm with thoughts of another great Italian dinner.  Well, we arrived it was closed so we asked a shop keeper next door where he suggested.  He said we would have to head down towards the river.  Ed had walked in that area before and suggested a Chinese restaurant and guided us there to find out it was also closed.  He next suggestion was just another block down, El Cairo.  It was a tapas bar but had a lovely dinning room attached but not opened.  He was able to have the gentleman open the dining room for us early so we could have dinner.

Ed had the pork tenderloin - above
I had the veal chop that was perfectly cooked and excellent
Theresa and Sheila had the fried cod and they said it was lightly coated and very good.

The group shared two pieces of dessert - we got slices of their chocolate torte with whipped cream…sorry not picture of how it arrived at our table - both slices were eaten very quickly….excellent!
 Side door into restaurant…

We had reservations for the 8:00pm flamenco show at Tablao El Arenal on Calle Rodo 7- suggested by Carmen and Rick Steves 2013 book.

No photos could be taken once the show started so this was taken by our waiter.  You had a choice of only the show & 1 drink (37 Euros per person), show, tapas and 1 drink (59 Euros) or show with dinner and 2 drinks (72 Euros).  We opted for the show only because we planned on an excellent Italian dinner…but was pleased with our dinner at El Cairo.

The show was 90 minutes and excellent.  We walked back to the hotel afterwards.
